The Cac 40 share chases 7000 points
The CAC 40, the index guide of the Paris stock exchange, marking a rise of 0.68% at 6300 points. The index, after touching an all time high in 6944, entered into a consolidation phase and every attempt at recovery was blunted by a Nasdaq dancer who turns out a negative performance after another. Analysts are still pretty post, in fact, that’s CAC 40 should close the year at 7000 points. A result less than that of last year, in fact in 1999 the CAC has increased by 51% since ‘98, this year should see growth of 17%. Aurel Leven indicates that by the end of 2001 the index was expected to reach a height of around 8000 points. The CAC 40 is the best European stock market since the beginning of the year, helped by low inflation and a growing economy.
